Happy New Year!

Well friends, a new year is upon us.  2012 was a year filled with ups and downs, good and bad, but we made it through, and I'm so looking forward to new beginnings.  I normally make up a list of resolutions...well maybe not so much "resolutions", but things I'd like to get done in the new year.  It's usually pages long.  Of course I never get them all done, but it IS nice to see some of the things get marked off.  I decided this year instead of making the list, I would just think of a word - one word that encompasses all that I'd like to accomplish.  That word is SIMPLIFY.  I've been doing a bit of that this past year, but not exactly on the level that I'd like.  This year I plan to go at it full force.  Care to join me?  It will carry over into many parts of my life, and hopefully will be something that I become used to...like a habit.  Part of this process is going to involve a bit of de-stashing.  More about that in future posts... :)

I have a few pictures I'd like to share with you.  My last finish of 2012 was such a fun stitch by one of my favorite bloggers.  Marly of Samplers and Santas has one of THE most fun blogs to read, and I just love her sense of humor.  She has graciously given us some fun freebies, and I love them all.  This was the most recent one, called Pear V.

I haven't finish-finished it yet, obviously, but you can see hers right here.  Cute, huh?

I also finished up "Winter Wonderland" Loose Feathers #39 by Blackbird Designs and will be taking it to the framer this week.  I enjoy stitching anything by Blackbird Designs, as they are one of my favorite designers.

I machine appliqued some t-shirts for my little buglets to wear for Christmas.  Here they are:

My little buglets modeling:

Christmas day was quiet for us.  We celebrated with Kevin, Shannon and the buglets and also with Kevin's dad's side of the family on the 15th, so on Christmas, Bob and I piled up in our chairs, I stitched and he played on his laptop.  We watched old movies and just vegged out.  He had to work yesterday and part of today, so we didn't do any New Year's partying.  We aren't party animals anyway.  My idea of celebrating is a big cup of coffee (or Coke Cherry Zero), my stitching and a black and white movie on the TV.  Ahhh...bliss!  :)  I know, I know.  It would be hard for you to keep up with my rowdy life, but what can I say?  ;)

Speaking of rowdy, I guess it's time for me to drag out my stitching and watch some NCIS.  I started a new project at midnight last night and I'll share that with you next time.  :)  Until then, I hope each and every one of you has a wonderful new year filled with love, good health, friends and all that makes you happy.  I feel so blessed to have you follow my little spot in cyberspace.  I am constantly amazed at how we can become friends with people all over the world via the internet.  It's wonderful!  It has truly made the world a smaller place.  Thank you for being there to encourage me, share your talent with me, and of course ENABLE me!  :)

Until next time...be a friend!

It is so relaxing to stitch letters, I am making an ornament. So much to do quilting, knitting, cross stitching.

Buglets, huh? I think most of mine are too big for that description! But I do have one! Great BBD finish--look forward to seeing it framed. And Marly's chart is a good one... all are on my list! Hugs!
